permalinkSo far in my Any Gray Port in a Storm posts, we've seen weird, rude creatures from a desolate world and ninjas fighting each other for apocalyptic stakes, plus more ninjas fighting each other for more apocalyptic stakes. This week we have the next logical step for graphics-heavy games color-reduced into the shabby gray blobs of Gameboy Portatitude:

Primal Rage: after some kind of apocalypse, some dinosaurs and a few giant apes punch each other, to conquer the world! Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, let's look at the character select screen:
Yeah, even through the lossy digital conversion, it hints at an underlying problem with King Kongs fightin' t-rex-like dinosaurs:
...they all look sorta king-kong/t-rex-like.

Sure, you've got ankylosaurus and little raptor-y dinos,
...but we still have a game with 6 fighters, two of which are basically palette-swaps. And bringing it back to the Gameboy port: one of the main things that make the generic T Rexes and Kings Kong different is their bright different colors.
That being said -- let's look at funny dino shenanigans.
